Here’s to compare the result of the sales months against Wii
“One of the strongest software lineups in our history helped Nintendo have a great holiday season and to close 2011 with a full head of steam,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Not only have the new Mario and Zelda titles already broken records, but with strong reviews and satisfied customers sharing their positive experiences, all three are also shaping up to be the latest long-tail titles from Nintendo. Couple that with a massive first- and third party lineup in the first part of the year and the prospects for 2012 are extremely promising.”Imagine my surprise when I came across these figures just last week…
- Nintendo 3DS: 4,135,739
- PSP: 1,960,177 (18,237,108)
- PlayStation 3: 1,467,261 (7,417,148)
- Wii: 937,451 (12,167,743)
- Nintendo DS: 711,204 (32,835,502)
- PlayStation Vita: 402,794
- Xbox 360: 114,075 (1,520,738)
